Winter lake opportunities.
You have dozens (hundreds) of large Valley reservoirs with trout in them.
They stock lots of small lakes like Rancho Seco in the winter with trout.
Fishing has been good on Davis Lake.
Eagle Lake is in its prime time period now.
Pyramid Lake will fish all winter and then go wild this spring, March-May.
Having a little weather, wind, overcast, will usually make the fishing better but being up there in a storm is a little dangerous. One time my brother Dick and I went to Pyramid Lake in Nevada and a storm came in. It was 3 hours up there and 11 hours back in the snow. We almost got snowed in.
