Default Middle Rogue Steelhead - Wednesday AM

Went wade fishing at my favorite spot and got zip. Stopped below Savage Rapids Dam to see if there were any cohos. Put on a big pink gaudy fly and almost immediately caught & released this thick 26" wild steelhead. Saw only one coho hooked among four gear fishermen.

    Gordon

That is a real 'husky' fish.

    Maybe 7 pounds?

Bill: Think 7 pounds is a reasonalbe estimate. About 10:30 AM decided to go back of the house and hooked & lost a nice fish of about 26-28" that jumped twice and took me well into my backing. Think I will have some lunch and head out wade fishing. A perfect steelhead day with a cold, low fog hanging on most of the day.

    Say it ain't so, Gordon.
You fished a fly other than the ice dubbed peacock beadhead nymph????
Just having some fun, buddy. Good to see that you carry a FEW different patterns in that fly box. GREAT fish.

Slim, I am equally shocked that Gordon actually OWNS another pattern. . . .

Gordon, keep those shots coming! I NEVER tire of seeing what you've been pulling out of your backyard. Another GORGEOUS fish, well done!
