Default Steelhead and fresh King Salmon on the Lower American

We have had reports of a late run of King Salmon in the river right now.

One of our buddies was our spey casting and hooked two nice fresh jacks around 5 pounds each and very bright.

Another friend hit a big fresh school of Halfpounders (17-19") at Watt about 10 days ago. He said that a guy in a drift boat pulling plugs came down and said he had hook about 30 Halfpounders that day.

    Default Late Run Everywhere

    Hi Bill,

It seems there are a lot of late runs happening on the Sac and the Feather as well.
There has been a new school of fresh salmon stacked up at Shanghai Bend for the past week and spin guys here have really been knocking them.
Upstream in the lowflow I'm still seeing new fish shooting through while others are building redds.
With the salmon now on their nests, the steelhead have really been targeting glow bugs and egg type patterns.
In the last couple of weeks I've had several steelies in the 10# range, hooked several much larger(don't think they were salmon?) that couldn't be held. Most are in the 4# to 8# range. Great on a #6 weight.
