    Default Stayin' Along The Trinity....

In answer to Tony's question about places to stay along the Trinity River, there're numerous campgrounds, public/private, next to the river and motels in towns like Weaverville and Willow Creek.... Below Willow Creek, I believe there is a motel in the Hoopa Valley, too. Not sure, but think I read that the casino on the reservation was closed.

There're probably more in other townships that I haven't stopped in, as well....

I think I heard there was a good motel now down below Willow Creek?

In November(huge month) they will be fishing more up by Junction City and up to Lewiston.

Fishing these Valley rivers is for us working stiffs.

You can get an RV or rent cabins by the month (with friends) and stay Sept/Oct/Nov on the Kalamth, Trinity and Rogue.

Actually the real smart ones spend Sept/Oct on the Bulkey and Kispiox up in British Columbia in RV parks along the rivers for big wild Steelhead on dries at times.

I can tell you places to fish to keep you busy 12 months of the year.

This is your big chance to really fish like Mike is showing us here.

I knew about this about 30 years ago when Joe Shirshac would take us to the Kalamth and we saw all those old timers in the RV parks along the river.

There are retired old fly fishers who spend all summer in Montana, the Fall in British Columbia for Steelhead and then the winter in New Zealand for 3 months, seriously.

You can RV it or rent places by the month with friends to defer the cost.

Gordon on the Rogue and Mike here on the lower Trinity are the smart ones.

I can't wait to retire so I can do what they are doing. Park on a great Steelhead river for a month at prime time.

Sorry for not responding, the laptop has been on the road again. Yes there are plenty of campgrounds, cabins, a motel, and a few restaurants in Willow Creek. All the comforts of home.

I have been fishing a 12' leader or so with a tippet of 12#. Was getting busted off way too much with 8#. Also beefed up the Poopahs, started tying them on #8 3Xlong hooks, no straightening as of yet. Heading out in a few minutes to check out the afternoon bite. Film at 11:00.

Bill, I'm not a smart one, just a lucky one
Ya don't know, if ya don't go!
