Very nice!!! Are there any fly-in guides up there??
I have a friend with a plane that perhaps I could talk into a trip with all these great pics you keep posting!

My recommendation would be Steve Bonner, owner of Native Run Fly Shop in Grants Pass. He does have a web site under Native Run Fly Shop. A very bright guy who knows the river extremelly well.

Oh Gordon............ you are killing me.
I think I am going to sell my shop and move in with you?
That is a beautiful fish.
How is the flow now?

Bill, Somebody has to live here!!! Flow is very typical for this time of year at 1,160 cfs. Will stay that way until 1 Oct when inflow and outflow from Lost Creek Reservoir will match which is currently 860 cfs. Water temperature is 58. We have recently had some morning lows in the high 30's. Some rain is forecast for Fri-Sun. The runs over Gold Rey are about 4,800 and the numbers were 4,400 over 30 days ago. We need rain to move the fish. As of 23 Sep the number over Gold Ray is 5,016 summer steelhead.
For you flat landers thinking about moving-its getting expensive even in Grants Pass. A little over four years ago when I moved here I would guess that you would pay 55% for a comprable property in the Sacramento area. Today that figure is much closer to 85%. River front property is very scarce and quite expensive now.

Hairstacker: I use an 8 weight 9 foot Kilwell(New Zealand) rod.
