Klamath Witchipec to Orleans

Took the wife for a drive yesterday to hopefully find some 1/2 pounders rolling around. Stopped at Big Bar access where on Wed. I found plenty of fish rolling and playing on the surface. Yesterday I saw maybe 6 or 7 fish roll in the 1/2 hour I was talking to Mike from Fresno up for the weekend. Decided the fish I saw on Wed. must be up river so we headed for Orleans and fished for a while on the bar below the bridge. Nothing but 6" bows or smolts or whatever they are and only a couple of fish that rolled in the 1/4 mile of river that I could see. Not many fisherman on the river but then again it seems there are not a lot of fish. I guess you just have to be at the right place at the right time. I know my time is coming! Until then

I think this time of year that first big run of Halfpounders moves pretty fast upstream looking for a cool place to stop.

They could be almost to Happy Camp now?

October is usually very good from Orleans to Happy Camp.
