    Default Lower Klamath

I fished the Klamath on Sunday. Started at Surpur Creek and fished a few places around there. Ran down river to Blue Creek to check it out, there were 12 to 15 people fishing. Ran up to Mowrek and fished back down. The water is dropping and the temp is 74. Landed 8 fish, three over 20 inches. All were caught useing a hi-D sink tip and all were in fast water. There were many salmon all the way up. Talked to a gill netter and Sat night was the first night that they had fished, they said that thier take was 17 fish. They were fishing at Johnson's. The Trinity is being jumped up from the current 450 cfs to 1650 cfs begining Aug. 28 and then will come back down on Aug 30. These flows are for the boat dance on the Hupa Resv. Hopefullly this will cool the river and spread the fish out some. Most of the fish are stacked at Blue Creek and below, but that could change quickly as the salmon are on the move.
Fishing is always good, the catching may not be.

Thanks for the info Bruce. I'm up here in Salyer and am heading to Hoopa tomorrow to check it out. Not seeing much in the "T" around this area yet, and haven't seen another fisherman to even talk to. Hope the increased flow get some fish headed up this way. It definately couldn't hurt! Would love to check out the Klamath with ya if need some company some day.

BTW any particular pattern getting the fish?
Ya don't know, if ya don't go!
