Default Kaweah River above Three Forks California

I've looking for some solid info. on the Kaweah River above and in the town of Three Forks, Calif. I've been sent down to Visalia to work the rest of the month of July, so not wanting to get stuck in a Hotel after work. I've pack up the fly rod, and going to try and make the best of it. Off work at 3:30 P.M. every day so I should have plenty of time to fish in the evenings. Anything someone can pass a long would be great. This Northern Cal. boy is lost down here in the Southland.
Why is it we have to work so hard all week, to try and fish as much as we can in two days? That's just wrong!!!

    Default Kaweah River??

Hey FFF,.... I don't have much info on that place. The last time I fished it was about 1969.... However, there used to be a very good fly shop in Visalia. Buzek's Fly Shop, I believe..... If it still exists, maybe that's the place to check for info.

I do recall that when I fished teh Kaweah there was a local fly pattern called Slim's Bug (....a variation of Zug Bug). This fly had a peacock body (fat) palmered with Coachman Brown hackle, tail same and a wing of white Kip tail (short). The size was about 10, 2X long.... (maybe a Mustad 3906B ) It worked quite well for me (....a long time ago).

Thanks for the tip Darian. I'll check into the fly shop. Interesting thing about the local fly pattern. I fished just inside the park last night. Caught a few decent sized Rainbow's. A few on dry's (Yellow Humpy) and the most of my fish came on a large Zug Bug. I'll look into that local pattern. Thanks again.

Buz's Fly Shop, Visalia, CA, 209-734-1151

Kaweah River is east of Visalia so this should be the shop.
