    Default Greeting From Missoula, MT

I left the Yellowstone area today and just checked into my hotel in Missoula. I ended the Yellowstone trip on a high note with guided trip by Bob Jacklin. Landed a couple decent browns on the Gallatin River and picked up some great tips on my casting.

I plan on fishing a few of the rivers around here in Missoula, visit the Paws Up Ranch, and then head for home.

Just a note about the place I stayed in the Yellowstone area ... Howlin Mad Moon Resort. These people were great, and really treated us well. We started out camping and ended up in a cabin for most of the time there. If you are planning a trip to this area, make sure you check these guys out. Check out their new website at: http://www.madmoonresort.com I give them two thumbs up!

That is pretty cool to get personaly guided by thee 'Bob Jacklin'.

That's kind of like having Arnold Palmer as your caddy?

When Jonathon is our age he can show that picture to his kids.

Bob Jacklin is probably one of the last old timers who actually still has a fly shop and in West Yellowstone to boot.

Bud Lily sold out and retired.

Dan Baley is in fly fishers heaven.

Bob is still very active in his store, and he told me he plans on staying there for at least another 5 years. In addition to running his store, he still guides once in a while, and even finds time to frequently go out on his own fishing in the area too!

Wow. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait until my son gets old enough for him to fly fish with me.

What a great memory for you and your son Gregg.

You got to fish with one of the fly fishing greats.
