That is a great idea. There is a rentable lookout on a ridge overlooking the Metolious which gives you a view of about 29 Cascades. Hear it is an incredible spot. Think the reservations start at 8 A.M. on June 1'st and the spots are taken by 8:00:01. Have to be damn fast to get a spot, but what a spot, and what a price.

there's three rentals on the eldorado natl. forest website. but Oregons right about the reservations. as soon as they become available they are taken.
