    Default Truckee temps

    Hey y'all.
I've been absent from the board for a while - took a trip back to the homeland for a couple of weeks, and have done more work than fishing since I've been back.
I managed to get out and fish the Truckee for about an hour last Sunday. Water temp was a chilly 48 degrees. Managed one smallish rainbow on a size 12 prince nymph. Didn't see any green drakes, but maybe the warmer weather this week might get things going.

I heard there are some Green Drakes out now.

I imagine it will be getting real good this next few days if it stays warm.

Heard there were some large stoneflies around too.

When the Truckee River gets around the mid-50s it should really turn on.

July will be a great month up there this summer.

I think you're right, Bill. It should be good up there in July. Maybe even into August?
I like the new site, by the way.

Hey DL, how's it going. To answer your questions:
    1. No, but I saw some really nice looking streams. Next time.
    2. My brother sent me a text message when I was over there that said that it was still raining and that everything was blown out, so sorry, but I didn't miss it.
    3. I could be pursuaded to fish for the "lower" fishes. It might take quite a bit of pursuasion, though.
    4. Don't worry, even though I'm Scottish, I never show up empty handed.

Good to here from you. Have you run into any big striped beasts lately?

    PM -

The score for the YEAR is 3 Stripes to 4 lbs. , and a few Steelhead to almost 7 . It's my own fault , really ..... I've a boat now , but have been too lazy to fish the American w/ it . I've always prefered wade fishing for Striped Bass , but the flows just haven't been at a wadeable level for several months .

Optimisim is running high here for the fall - I hope to find a few large Stripes out there before the weather turns them to chilly logs . The Delta is looking better and better after the crappy early season we've had here in Sacramento , but as fun of a place as the Delta is to fish , my game for the past 5 years has been wading a clear river for the monsters that haunt my dreams/nightmares ......

It's been kind of interesting to get away from the American and fish different places , though - I've made visits to some old haunts , and a few new ones , as well . We'll see what the future holds as far as stable flows on the American .

Good to have you back in the fold , hope you can make it up here for July fourth party/BS time

    David
