    Default Damsels at Lake Davis

The damsels have been migrating heavy the last few days at Davis and the fish are keying on them. Very strong fish activity near Freeman and Cow Creek areas with lighter action near Jenkins and Fugowee points. Try using smaller patterns (size 12) in darker colors like bronze, olive, and even black. Fish slow retrieves generally and vary them with conditions of depth, wind, fish speed (yes they are moving very fast), water conditions. Use a floating line and at least 4x tippet. Cast in front of fish and try to lead them if they are moving. Most fish will feed into the wind or along the edges of points, weed beds, or shore. Average fish is over 18 inches with some very large fish being taken.
