Default Experimental Bass Fly No. 37C

Despite the possibilities (and temptation ), I've concluded that strapping a Senko plastic worm to a hook, even with fly tying thread, probably doesn't count as a bass fly. Well, I was out shoppin' with Mrs. Schobey a couple days ago when I ran across some very intriguing chenille. I immediately noticed it is far thicker than any chenille I've ever seen in a fly shop and, most importantly, it does not have wire or any other type of stiff material running through it. And as soon as I saw it, I thought BASS!!! Accordingly, without further adieu, here are two pictures of my first experimental version of a plastic worm imitation:

This second photo of the same fly illustrates how I hope it looks in the water, as the material is extremely limp and flexible (like yarn):

The material is a little pricey, but I believe I now have a lifetime supply in black -- it also comes in olive and a few other colors. Once I have a chance to test it out in the Delta, I'll let you know if it's the killer pattern I expect it to be.

    Default Worm Fly???

Mike,..... Good looking fly.... . Would you think it might be enhanced by attaching a latex Fly Tail at the end in, say, black with red flake or Chartruese with sliver, maybe motor oil colored

Can't wait to hear how it works....
