    Default motorbike fishing

Took my bike up to the N Yuba area the other day for some camping and to check out the Downie river and Lavezzola/Pauley creeks. The water was a bit high and fast but gourgeous. Caught a some fish near the banks. Got on a trail marked for OHVs, yea right. If you like to occasionally mix your fishing w/dual-sport bikes don't take an OHV trail with out scouting it first. The trails can be a foot and a half wide with 60 degree slopes on either side w/no turn-arounds. Anyhow 340 lbs bikes aren't easy to pull up 60 degree slopes. The nice thing was I asked the "Big Guy" for the strength to get myself out of the situation at hand and... along came three kayakers. They were kind enough to take time out of their day to help a hybrid-redneck from Georgia pull his bike back on a trail so his wife wouldn't start worrying about him. Some of the younger generation may sport an exotic-fly-pattern look but they still have good hearts.

    Default Motorbike Fishin'????

2short,.... You have a very interesting method of transporting your self to fishin' spots.... I'd join you but I can't even stay up on a mountain Bike (still recovering from a broken collar bone and torn rotator cuff from a bike ride a couple of years ago )

The area you fished used to be one of my favorites... . Don't know why it still isn't I really like the town of Downieville....

    Anyway, What's a "hybrid-redneck"

    Darian,
rednecks like myself are derived from the hybridization of an urbanite (Mother) and a ruralist (Father). The degree of urbanization and ruralization present in the mix create a spectrum along which the hybrid off-spring will fall. In my case Mother being from a smaller urban textile center in N. Georgia and Father being from true Florida double-wide stock I tend to exhibit more of the rural attributes common of my Fathers bloodline. The result is that I sometimes demonstrate seemingly incompatable behavior. For example I prefer to drink coffee and tea from English bone china and I can't help but slow down for a road-kill deer to see if it has antlers I can cut off.
    Hope this helps.

    '2short' is too cool.........

My dirt bike won't make the ride up there with no license or brake lights.

It sounds like way too much fun though.

    All,
happy to give a laugh, doing so ranks right up there with hooking a fish, maybe even better. But really, I do slow down for road-kill deer. : :P

    Default Road Kill....???

The real question is do you take the hide for fly tying material or for clothing and eat the meat.... (MMM, MMM.... venison... .)
