Eagle Claw came out with model 1197 during the early 70's, I believe . I bent a number of the original 100 purchased . From that time on, I've had some level of mistrust for EC hooks (including the EC 413). Probably just a leftover feeling.... .

My favorites, now, are Gamakatsu, Owner, Mustad (not necessarily in any order). I do use TMC hooks and haven't experienced any problems with 'em .
