    Default bear river

    does anyone have any information on access points and fishing opportunities on the bear river north of auburn either above or below highway 49? with the american out of commission for a while - I am looking north. any info would be appreciated.

    I think you can drive down behind Colfax off Hwy 80 to the Bear?

    Welcome to the board !!

    When the stupid high water drops , go above Drum forebay - 50/50 Browns and Rainbows . They like BIG dries and #8 Golden stone nymphs .

    Oh , yeah .... keep it quiet :P

    Yeah Colfax campgrounds can be fished. You won't catch many but it can be reached in 30 minutes from Roseville. Stay clear of all the miners they don't like you too close to thier diggins. The river is still way to high for now. They use to plant it.That was years ago.No more.

    The Bear must be very high today.... Blue Canyon recorded four inches of rain in a little over an hour, yesterday . The Bear was already high from earlier storms/run-off... .

    Don't think I'd bother with it any time soon....
