Default Bass ponds would be the best bet now

As long as the sun is shinning, the afternoon/early evenings should be good on hundreds of small shallow low elevation bass ponds around Sacramento.

I like to go out after work and hit a pond and fish right up till dark.

    Hey Bill,

New to Sac and wondered if you can direct me to a pond. What size tackle would you recommend? I need to stop by your store and "stock up"!

    Thanks.

Your preaching to the choir here. I went out a few evenings ago to a local pond with a black popper. Wish I had my camera with me. I was using a 6 wt and wish I had of brought my 8 wt instead. Some of the biggest bass I have every caught on a fly rod. I had one that would have gone 4 1/2 lbs at least and another about 4. I caught them at last light.
