    Default Rucker Lake for bass

I believe this is the lake, near Fuller, up hwy 80, then to hwy 20, that has tons of bass.

It is up a little in elevation so it is probably good in May/June?

I will have to check with one of our bass experts, Pete Peterson.

I think this would make a great weekend fish-out.

Good article from the Fish Sniffer web site, thanks.

Pete Peterson just told me that April though June should all be good for lots of small/medium black bass on Rucker.

He likes a fast sinking #2 streamers, wooly buggers & clousers, on a sinking line to get down to some bigger fish. Chartreuse, black or olive are all good colors.

I think you can walk/wade it pretty well or use a float tube or pontoon boat. Pete says you have to carry or drag what every you use from the parking lot.

    No gas motors.

    Thanks Sturmer,

I have several beginners including my daughter Amy plus some grandkids so it sounds perfect.

    Hey Bill
Be sure to have your kids take float tubes. The water is real warm and the lake is not intimadating. You also can fish Fuller in the am and Rucker later. It is onlyabout a mile away.

    Default Rucker

Bill, I have fished Rucker previously in the early fall and found it truly does have bass. I've caught a lot, but have yet to see one over 6-7 inches. I'm sure larger fish are there somewhere!

Tim, yeah, you would think that, even with the shorter growing season, there'd be some bigger than 6-7 inches. Somewhere.
