    Default Fishing Report - 3/13/05

Well, our very own, dear David Lee took my two boys and I out to the TRULY sweetest (and I do mean sweeeeetest) little pond today for some warmwater flyfishing. I think the highlight for the boys, though, was when we picked David up at his house and he presented each of my boys with boxes full of all-different flies for the trip (and for them to keep!!!) -- when I unloaded the car at home, it was the first thing they asked for -- THANKS(!!!) David, that was REALLY cool of you! Here is a picture of said sweetest water:

Here is a picture of our professional guide and fearless leader himself, Mr. David Lee with the boys and fish that David personally got them in to:

    Here's a picture of me with a bass I got today. . .

and one of a bunch of bluegills and redears:

All in all, it was a GRAND time! The pond was just LOADED with fish and it was the perfect place to take two boys with their fly rods. And David was GREAT with the boys, they really got a kick out of him. (I think they thought he was one of their own, ha) David really took a lot of time out to take them around the pond, coach them on what to look for and what to look out for, and provide them hands-on instruction on how to get into fish. THANKS SO MUCH David, can't wait to do it again!

p.s. I took a photo of David with a really nice golden shiner but no matter how I've tried, I can't get the picture to come out big enough to really see. (I even tried it at 1.5 megs!) I suspect it was because I held the camera vertically, who knows. . . .

I think the boys and I got on so well 'cause we're the same age (11 years old) .

The pond was "off" .... we SHOULD have had triple-digit Sunfish counts , but so it goes . I had a great time none the less , and your boys were WONDERFUL !!

Hairstacker wasn't too bad to fish with :P :P :P , just about the BEST company anyone could have for a day .

Let's do it again , soon !! David

PS - Kevin and Stephen are the toughest , best mannered kids I've ever seen ! Kevin cut a finger pretty good , and didn't flinch when I did the "wound-cleaning" thing on him . Stephen made it THREE TIMES around the pond (thru blackberry thickets) and cut-up his legs good ... not a bit of whining !! They are Bushmen in the making !!

    David,

Is this a private pond or public. I"m coming in on Thursday afternoon and looking for some type of fishing and then on Friday, I'm going after stripers. Saturday morning will find me sitting at the tying table all day.

Yeah, for much of the day, you could see large schools of shiners boiling on the surface and then they would scatter like something had approached. . . . Judging by the size and quantity of forage, I have no doubt that there are some MONSTERS in there. . . .
