    Default Fished the Feather today.

My 10 year old boy and I fished the Feather at the Palm Ave. entrance today. We landed 4 around 12-14 inches. Beautiful day and a lot of fun, but my boy wasn't too excited about nymphing. He can cast fairly well so he wants to shoot every cast, and fish far. I talked him into high sticking a bead head birdsnest and he finally caught fish. We also caught one on on a bead head Prince Nymph.

I think that if you put on any #12/14 wet fly or nymph on a floating line now with the water warming he could swing for the halfpounders (12-16") that usually are in the Valley Rivers in the Spring.

You can use a #14 adult caddis too.

March/April/May can be very good with afternoon/evening caddis activity.

All the fish broke water and were hard fighters. The runs we fished were deeper than I thought and we had to add some weight to get the flies down. Maybe cause the water was a little off color? Are there any adults still in the water now?
