Default Absolutly no Steelhead left in the American R. (joke)

Stay home.....they all died of some rare fin desease? ( only joking)

Only a few little sick ones left like this one that local drift boat guide Keith Kaneko was lucky enough to scratch out of that stinken' old river.

    Default Keith Kaneko

Keith was nice enough to fit myself and my buddy Gregg into his busy schedule for a half day on the American last Saturday. Both Gregg and I stuck into a fish or two but neither of us landed one. A steelie almost broke Gregg's arm with an explosive burst of power after a hookset. Unfortunately the fish shook off before Gregg regained his composure.

Keith did his job as far as getting us shots at steelies, we did not really hold up our part of the deal. To our defense we were boxed out of some honey holes because it was Saturday and many fishermen were out in force. Excuses Excuses

Check out the gathering at WHORE island at Sailor Bar, too many guys in one spot.

I have much repsect for Keith because he refuses to fish the Sailor Bar area. He is also very respectful to the other anglers. Keith bypassed some great water during our drift because he did not want to poach the other fishermens water. I aslo respect his work ethic, Keith works his butt off rowing. He rowed us up some runs 3-6 times so that we could drift through the prime water again and again.

Give Keith a call at 916/539-3474 to book a guided trip for yourself.

Although I did not boat a chrome steelie I did manage to boat this AWESOME golden "steelie"
