I developed this pattern last year but had very little time to fish it. I was inspired by the salmon smolt swimming in the American River. I tie it on an up-turned steelhead style hook to allow it to track straight and for the classy look. I palmer white blood quill marabou around medium white chennile then tie in olive marabou on the top. To simulate the parr marks I use a grizzly hackle on both sides. The head is epoxied over pearl tape eyes. Give it a try. It was a hit when I tied at the last International Sportsman Expo.
When this fly is wet it moves like it is actually alive.
