    Default Question about Scadden raft

Hi. I saw that Dave Scadden makes a frameless raft called the Box Canyon. It looks pretty good. I suspect it could all fit in the back of my SUV when it’s deflated. Currently, I use a Sea Eagle STS10, but was thinking of getting something a little roomier, but still without the need for a trailer. Does anyone have any experience with Dave Scadden boats? Advice is welcome. Thanks.

Dave Scadden makes very nice boats. They are well built and durable. Most people love their Scadden boats and I've owned several, and sold some for a good resale price. You will find a lot of negative comments about Scadden online, some of which are justified. 1) he is constantly coming out with new designs and I'm not sure each one is fully thought out. 2) The pricing model is very strange....everything always seems to be on sale for half-off, 3) I and others have experienced problems with ordering and delivery...like you get your boat but the oars are out of stock. These issues are generally rectified, but can be annoying, and may take several calls. In short, I think Dave is a good boat builder and not a great businessman.
