Looking to turn my 1984 14' Western into a more fly fishing friendly craft? Maybe get a casting deck in front, looking to cruise local rivers and impoundments. Anyone have experience or thoughts on this craft??

Is it a pram or a V-bow boat?

It's a v boat. I attached a pic. 14 footer, looking on attaching a 20 horse yamaha, adding a casting deck and fishing on reservoirs. Maybe the American and lower Sac for stripers. I attached a pic. Any insight or intel on the maker or boat or suggestions much appreciated. Maybe take it in the Delta or bay or inside the break wall in LA or SD.

For the areas you are looking to fish an anchor system and a way to slow your drift will be very important (sea anchor, bucket, drag chain, etc. for lakes, coast, and Delta). A bow-mount, saltwater worthy trolling motor would be very nice, but the items above can still help to slow and stop your drifts. Just move them to your next boat as needed.

Also, some kind of line management device, gunwale rod tubes for safe storage when running from spot to spot, and a sturdy medium-sized waterproof tackle bag for keeping fly gear clean, dry, and organized are worthy of consideration.
