Here’s a fun post you could put up.

Right now, we have steelhead in the river. Guide Mike Koe caught a beautiful wild female yesterday.

We’re starting to see packs of stripers (10-15 pounds), and now there’s a post about shad being caught at Gristmill.

For the next few weeks, a capable angler has a legitimate shot at an American River slam - a steelhead, a striper, and a shad on the

same day!

Maybe, if you are in a draft boat. I love the river and the parkway. But, my fishing luck isn’t very good.

Drift boats and jet boats are an advantage on all rivers.

American is flowing at 5500 cfs. Pretty high for the wading angler. Be careful out there.
