I'll be in McCall Idaho the first week of May. Any advice on locations to fish (streams or lakes) fly shops, guides, etc. would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Here is a message from one of my dearest friends, Bob Nakagawa, who had a fly shop in Modesto, CA, the Sierra Angler.
Bob retired and moved to Twin Falls, Idaho.
In the summer, he works for a fly shop in Montana.

"Hi Bill,
There is a fly shop in McCall:
https://www.flyfishmccall.com
I haven’t fished that part of the state. The problem, as I see it, is the runoff peaks (like CA) around that time.
Plus (like CA), low water temperatures may make fishing tough.
There could still be some late spring steelhead in the Salmon River, north of McCall.
I hope that this helps.
Take care,
Bob Nakagawa"

I was in Boise last week. Nothing was fishable.
There are few things in life more pleasing than the sublime marriage of form and function that is found in a well crafted fly rod.
