Wow. That's a big one. They were early into the mail order business. I remember getting a catalog that was about an inch thick. Consider yourself lucky if you still have a local fly shop.

Sad to hear this. Bob's was one of the most fully stocked fly shops I've been to and their catalogue was always anticipated. My local shop, Fin & Fire, is still going strong but besides fly fishing, they sell Traeger BBQ's and associated stuff (hence the fire part of the name). Probably helps cover rent and stuff for the building.

Sorry to hear that! Marriott's used to be one of the biggest fly shops in the country by volume, due to its mail orderbusiness. Those huge pre-internet catalogs were classics. The shop was never the same after a couple ownership changes, but I would still stop by if I had time when traveling in SoCal. Very disappointed to hear this.

Bob and his staff were excellent. One of my dealers for years. The shop and, of course, passing last year will be missed.

I would call Bob and ask him questions about flyfishing business-related things and he always helped me.
