Default Ron Hayashi, Merchant Marine officer, retired, recently passed away.

Ron was very involved in the fly fishing world.

Everly on, in my fly shop career, he helped me a lot.

Back then "Uncle Ron" was one of the best fly fishers and fly tiers around.

He worked on large ships for months at a time, then took time off.

This allowed him to go on some long fly fishing trips, some around the world.

Finally, after all these adventures, he found a perfect mate and married Cindy.

They moved to Oregon where they could pursue a life in the outdoors.

Ron helped pioneer Spey casting on those wonderful Oregon rivers.

He had a long, wonderful life and will be missed by many of us old timers.

To honor Ron, it'll be so nice to have so many of his fly fishing friends and friends from various parts of his life come together for this "Reunion" of kindred folks, with a time to eat and share stories and visit. I've tried to find all possible email addresses to send this invite, but could you please let dear friends know in case I've missed anyone. (please, however, no social media).

I would welcome you to share a story or a few words about Ron, please call me or let me know. This will give you time to think about that.

Ron was a great friend and fly fisherman, outdoor enthusiast, adventurer, traveler, and retired ship's officer, with a ready grin and enjoyed spending time with each and every one of you who received this email.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, over these last many months and years, for your kind thoughts and assistance throughout this long and difficult time. It has been heartwarming to me that you've been there for us in so many ways that count.

    Sincerely,

    Cindy Hayashi
