Shout out to this weekends guests chasing the shad!
I was lucky enough to find two gents this weekend who were interested in taking my inflatable out for some shad fishing. Friday I started the three day weekend with Bob in the boat. We floated from Rossmore to Gristmill, primarily spending most of the day in rossmore region. Around 5pm we finally decided we should start moving down river. This was my first drift this year and man was it cool seeing all the shad carpets. Overall between the two of us we easily went over 20 shad.
Saturday I took Ron out, and we just put the inflatable in at Sunrise, red bridge, and worked the bucket as best I could with the crowd of weekend fisherman and floaters. We only got into a few shad and didnt spot any schools so we packed up the boat around 3pm and moved down to rossmore to try wading. It was so full of spin fisherman and float traffic that for the most part I just sat on the bank and watched Ron fish. Saturdays close was only a handful if that of shad.
Ill be looking to go out again this weekend. Great guys and good times! The fly of the day for Friday is posted as well. Im not sure what I want to call it yet. I really appreciate the assistance that Ron and Bob both offered. I hope they both had a good time getting out after the shad!
