Reelly: Unbelievable Fly Fishing Guide Stories – Written by Ryan Johnston

Ryan, through the "Reel" series, bring us his second book of short fly fishing guide stories. Here are what two acclaimed anglers have said about the sequel.

"You don't need to have guided trout anglers for decades to appreciate Ryan Johnston’s second book. It’s about the daily attempt to share the most wonderful aspects of life in the natural world. You’ll say, 'Yes! I’ve been there,' as Ryan paints with words a series of days afield as a fishing guide, teacher, preacher, and pal—all in an effort to share what has called to him for a lifetime. Don’t miss the chance to turn these pages. They’ll lead you straight to yourself." — Flip Pallot, Author, TV Personality and Fly-Fishing

"Ryan absolutely crushed his second book. REELLY is a book all fishing enthusiast must read! His stories are relatable, brutally honest, and entertaining.” -- Curtis Fleming, Fly Rod Chronicles, Discovery Channel

    Book Summary:

Through fishing we find a unique connection to the outdoors, ourselves, and the friends with whom share the sport. Moments on the water are often revered and feed the soul of a fisherman. In those moments we find great pleasure, appreciation, and reflection. Fishing is not just about going out on the water, casting your line, and hoping to catch a fish. It is an exemplar of organized chaos—from tangles and broken rods to falling in the water and euphoric celebration between friends when a big fish is landed. In Reelly, Ryan Johnston gives us a second book full of short fishing stories that are going to make you smile, laugh, and reflect on your own time on the water. Through his interesting career as a fly-fishing guide, he has seen and experienced things on the water that most would say are unbelievable. Find a comfy chair, pour yourself your favorite drink, and get ready for some of the greatest fishing stories you have ever read.

Thanks for all of the support from the NorCal fly fishing scene. It has been one hell of a ride for 21 years as a guide. Grateful for all of you. Enjoy the new book.

I'm grateful for all of the kind words or encouragement from all of that have purchased the book. It brings me a lot of joy knowing people are finding laughter, perspective, and reflection from their own time on the water. If that happens for a bunch of people, then I know it was worth the time and energy to write it. Thanks again. Cheers to one of the best fishing months in Northern California.
