FS: Anderson Custom Rods 12'5" 5WT TTH $450

Gary Anderson built rod, custom model for Fly Fishing Specialties in Sacramento. Built to Rick Anderson's taste for his shop. Great rod bought it about 5 years ago but never find a use for it anymore. Great Scandi rod for summer run steelhead.

My old friend and mentor, Al Perryman, who lives in Gold Hill on the middle Rogue River, fishes that rod, exclusively, on the Rouge.

Al fishes near his home on the Rogue River from July through November for summer/fall adult Steelhead.

He goes out almost every morning, slightly before "Dark Thirty".

He fishes a floating Scandi head, a leader the length of his rod, and a #6 classic winged black Steelhead fly.

Al has a long and interesting history in the fly fishing world. He grew up on the Lower American River.

He guided for years in his younger days in Alaska, then on the Rogue River, Williams River, and Wood River.

He was a manufacturer's Rep, worked at the FFF fly fishing schools, and ran the Orvis Fly Fishing schools for the San Francisco store.

Today, Al, Gary Anderson and now Jeff Putnam all live in Gold Hill on the middle Rogue River.

My good old friends, Gordon Langenbeck and Charlie Costner, both live up that way as well.

The Rogue Fly Shop is a good one for southern Oregon.

I have this rod and have thought a few times about selling it, but it’s so good I just can’t let it go, even though I haven’t fished it since 2020 or 2021. With a Rio trout spey scandi 350 it is so so sweet.
