    Default Ascension Bay Mexico Report

I recently returned from a week in Ascension Bay. We fished out of Casa Viejo Chac in Punta Allen on a hosted trip by Red's Fly Shop up in Washington. Lodge, food, and guides were all great. Red's coordination was great and I recommend them for hosted trips. Fishing ranged from fair to very good depending on the day. Best day for bones was about a dozen fish landed and double that many good shots. Jumped 7-8 tarpon and landed a nice snook another day. Didn't get a permit, but had some good shots at a school we chased on foot for about an hour.

    Great post and wonderful photos.

Reds is a great fly shop and has lots of good videos on YouTube.

Ascension Bay, south of Cozumel and Cancun, has been a great fishery for decades now.

Going on a group-hosted trip out of a good fly shop is a great way to go.

    Thanks Woodman.
