Striped Bass

I have found I don't get the bug to go after stripers in the spring as much as I do in the fall. In the fall the coming end of the season makes everyday feel like it could be the last which gives some urgency to the whole thing. The other bass are also happening in the spring which is a pretty good distraction from striper.

I did go out a couple of times in the last week. Fish were caught which is always good. A few around 5 or 6 and one a little bigger that bested me. I tried for some largemouth but could only get small ones. A six pound Delta largemouth would be pretty cool. They don't come often to the fly rod but it does keep you going back to try.

I caught these two this morning in the same spot. One on the way up the slough and one on the way back down. It is not my best spot but you have to search them all. You never know where the next bite will be.
