Too many 5 weights in the quiver to give this rod the love it deserves.

The Scott G904-4 and G905-4 are iconic fly rods from the 1980s?

They were popular for catching large trout on light tippets.

My friend Don Rotsma, a veteran trout angler, used a G882-3 all the time for fly fishing for trout.

Don Rotsma, Hal Janssen, Bob Giannoni, Fred Gordon, Chris Pasley, Bob Quigley, Dave Whitlock and a few others I know, all used very

soft action fly rods. They used much smaller fly rods in #2, 3 and 4 weight line sizes with long leaders, light tippets and one smaller fly.

They could land very large trout on these light outfits. These are also some of the best trout fly fishers I know.

And, no, these light rods were not for "chucking" giant indicators, multiple split shot, and two weighted flies on the lower Sac.
