Rod 1
For sale is a most likely late 60s/70s EC Powell semi-hollow trout rod. Rod is an 8 1/2’ long 2 pc 2 tip. Rod weighs just over 4oz, has a 13 ferrule, and is in near mint condition. B-9 action 5-6wt rod. Original bag and tube. Original owners name inked on the rod.

Rod 2
For sale is a 50s EC Powell semi-hollow trout rod. Rod is 7 1/2’ long 2 pc 2 tip. Rod weighs in at 3.55oz, has a 12 ferrule, and is in near mint condition. B-9 action 4wt. Original bag and tube w/address label. Doesn’t get much more rare than this. Address label is pre zip codes so before ‘63 but has the doubled over bag stitching so post 54.

Since the stock market is supposed to totally crash soon these iconic EC Powell split cane fly rods would be a good investment.

They are Made in the USA and Made in Northern California by EC Powell.


Over my 50 plus years in the fishing tackle business in Sacramento, I saw virtually thousands of old split cane fly rods.

90% were not worth much but the 10% were amazing.
