This morning perched in the lilac tree out back. Hardy little Anna's hummingbirds that over winter here. Not much for them to eat so we keep the feeder out to supplement the few little gnats and things they find.

    What great shots, John.
I feed orioles grape jelly during the spring-summer and decided to keep
going thru the winter for finches, sparrows, etc. Love to watch them.
Recently, on a trek down to San Diego's Black beach, we encountered
a young coyote who kept retreating until he was on the narrow beach.
He displayed mountain goat dexterity as he scampered along the cliff.
Love 'em or hate 'em, you have to appreciate the coyote and its
    adaptability.
    Best to all,

I have my hummingbird feeder out but it is not getting much action right now. They all went south I guess. Maybe Arizona or Mexico.

A friend of mine in San Diego gets bird shots at La Jolla Cove. That seems to be a good spot for birds. He says he has coyotes in his backyard. When they are kind of a pest photos of them are not as much fun. I have tons of fruit eating red squirrels in my yard that are not my friends and I don’t take pictures of them but if I see a native gray squirrel outside of town I try to get a shot.
