Famous Texas Gulf fly fisher, Brooks Bouldin, passed away about a year ago.

Brooks had the famous Anglers Edge Fly Shop in Houston, Texas. This is a nice piece about him.

My friend, Al Perryman, connected me with Brooks about 40 years ago so I could buy some of his excellent small SW poppers.


I first got them for Baby Tarpon in Venezuela at the Rio Chico Lagoons that Dan Blanton had recently found.

Dan wrote an inspiring article on Rio Chico with pictures of his "Tropical Punch" streamers.
Here is one of Dan's pictures of him at Rio Chico many years ago when he was a powerful young man.

Brooks' manager at the time told me he took his vacation the first two weeks of July for Redfish out of Rockport, Texas.
