Beautiful Valley Steelhead

We floated for Valley steelhead with Ryan Willams today. We had a good day, angler traffic was light and we caught a bunch of fish. I did not take a lot of pictures but my buddy got a real beauty and we got some very nice pictures of it. I got a fish that was almost as big but not nearly as beautiful. We had quite time. Ryan is a fun guy to fish with, knows how to get them and appreciates the resource and everyday he gets to spend out there. If you have a chance fish with him.

I also got pictures of some big beautiful northern flickers this week. I found a courting pair in some oak trees and watched the male chase the female around relentlessly. It was quite a show. I have been looking for flickers for awhile with no luck so this was a good score for me.

Awesome photos and fish! Just out of curiosity, were you able to swing any up, or were they all on the nymph?

No swinging on this day. Maybe some swinging on the Rogue next week.
