    Post Truckee River Rainbow PB

Hello everyone. On 10/13 I caught my PB Truckee River rainbow, but did not get a weight or length. Released the fish quick and got a few quick pics and video of the release. Curious if any of you could guesstimate what the weight might have been from some pictures.

If you look closely at the picture the anglers' hands are exceptionally large.

Haha I mean we’ve all been guilty of long arming fish.

It’s definitely over 20”. I’d say most likely 23”-24”. Anything over 25” is pretty obvious.

Who cares how long or heavy it is.................it is a huge wild Rainbow trout.

I would blow up that photo and hang it on the wall.

Normally you pay $10,000 plus a week to go to Alaska or New Zealand to catch one that size.

These new Smart Phone cameras are so good.

We would drive up to the Truckee River around the first of July after work 50 years ago to hit the dry fly fishing in the evenings.

That river has one of the most diverse food sources for trout so it has hogs in it.

    Thanks DMO.

I'd guess 7-8# but it's beauty and wildness far outshines its weight.
Also, thanks for proper handling and quick release.
