In about 1970s I sold lots of them.

At the beginning, TP&L (Tom, Pat & Larry), in Los Gatos delivered 8 of them one evening to the rear of my shop and everyone showed up

and picked theirs up. All of a sudden we went from fishing in round doughnut float tubes to 8 foot prams. People either fished from a

fiberglass 8 foot TP&L or a rivetted aluminum 8 foot Valco pram.




There is a long history of prams or Jon boats in fly fishing that I witnessed.

They are so much fun to fish out of.

The TPLs are nice prams. This one is from the estate of a fly fishing friend. I sold my personal one a few years ago because my pram addiction has gotten out of hand. They are quieter and warmer than metal prams and the tri-hull design moves a bit faster than my 8' Valco jon -- which someone once said "rows like a bar of soap".
