YubaFest with the GBF:

Hello GBF Members,
A lot of good things have happened this year. For example, there was our successful Annual Dinner followed by the club's $3,500 funding of the Bill Carnazzo Fellowship at Cal Poly Humboldt and then the $10,000 donated to several local environmental organizations.

All of this hard work is all well and good, but in the process we missed the opportunity for a club picnic where members can relax and enjoy themselves. However, it's not too late for us to meet as a group and kick back for an afternoon. This can be done at the September 30th 2023 YubaFest that is being hosted by the Northern California Council of Fly Fishers International (NCCFFI).

This year the club will be hosting a booth at the YubaFest. Terry Eggleston will be there to answer entomology questions that are bugging you. Jim Monical will demonstrate the latest innovations in float tube propulsion and Chris Knight can help you plan your next small creek adventure. All members are invited to bring a lawn chair and join us at the booth. Come for an hour or come for the day, it simply does not matter.

The YubaFest is the NCCFFI's only fundraising event. Let's make it a "win-win" situation by: 1) supporting a group that supports our club; and 2) spending time with other club members --- where nobody's got to do anything but enjoy themselves!

Click here for a link to a flyer that explains YubaFest activities (please ignore the guide trips that are being auctioned, I'd prefer that fewer people bid against me). The YubaFest will be held at Sycamore Grove, a County Park located along the Yuba River. This is a beautifully shaded venue and it will be held on a classically enjoyable autumn afternoon. This will be a "happening" so don't miss it.
