In my opinion, was a good movie but it can't compare with the book.

I agree with Bill M., I have read this novela at least four times and I rarely re-read books of fiction.
The film was handled well by Redford and company especially since they had Norman MacLean's last great efforts in helping with the screenplay (He died in 1990).
