Default Big Permit on a fly off the coast of Florida by Steve Potter

Right now, offshore fishing is really good and really popular with extremely low wind and smooth seas.

My fishing buddies, Steve Potter and Chuck Sterney went 2 miles out in the Atlantic with our favorite guide, Eric Davis.

June, July, August and September can be very calm out there so everyone is running outside.

Boats from 20 to 30 feet are going out every day now.

They launch inside the Inter Coastal and run out through the Sebastian Inlet.

Offshore anglers are trolling for Dorado, King Mackerel,

Eric knew a sport that was shallow out there, 15 to 30 feet or so. Viability was fantastic according to Steve.

Yesterday, they were using sinking lines and Clouser minnows to hook Tarpon, Permit, Snappers and Barracuda.

Steve landed a 25# Permit on a Chartreuse and White Clouser.
