    Default Napa River

Fishing has been pretty good so far this spring, with fish trending a bit larger than usual for me. Got my biggest yet the other day at just under 35". Not so bad for fly fishing from the bank, if I do say so myself. Lucky that this one decided not to take off down river and stayed out of the main current. Picture doesn't quite capture how fat it was. Lucky also that this was a "one more cast" fish.

Dark flies have been better in the muddy water. Fish seem extremely tide dependent (even more than usual), which might in part be about reduced visibility.

Headed to Cape Cod for work next month, so it's good to get in a little practice. Did alright out there last year fishing harbors around Woods Hole from a kayak, but this year I've got a friend with a real boat who has promised a trip out to Cuttyhunk Island for some shots at big fish.

That's a nice fish Blarson. Dark colors always seem to work better in off color water.
