Default High Water trip on the Upper Sac.

Was gonna head over to the Mac again but a buddy suggested check out the Sac since the flows
dropped a little from 2100 to 1800, it has warmed up a bit so river is back up to 2600 right now.

Still high, so very limited number of spots that are fishable.

We went to the mid-river area.

Weather was great, water was high, fishing was fair.

Again no dry fly fishing. All deep nymphing, S&M and Red Copper John for me
My buddy said he was fishing a Red Dot
(edit: Sorry mis-remembered - he said Red Dart not Red Dot.)

Did see a few bugs around, light BWO hatch and a few bigger mayflys that I did not get a good look at
(maybe March Bowns? Looked like about a big size 14 or a small 12)
but there was only a handful around.

A few fresh(?) salmon-fly shucks around but no live bugs seen. They should be out soon.

I had about 4 or 5 grabs and landed 3.

My buddy was not always in sight and he got broke off twice, but I think he got about 4 or 5.

    Got a few pics.

One shows the fun of fishing in the trees and bushes since you can not wade out in many spots.

Thanks for the update. I was thinking of heading up this weekend, but those flows are way too high. Very nice USac fish though! Should be a great year up there once the flows drop a bit and the water warms.
