Bill, "I went to Berryessa today for the first time this year.

The road between Winters and Markley Cove has been closed due to a slide and is now open. Fishing is still a little slow. The bass are still not quite up on the beds yet. I caught a nice Croppie. What is the biggest I’ve ever caught today and one bluegill that was as big as a small dinner plate and a couple of other small fish. Could see the fish moving but not a whole lot of bites. But it was still one of the prettiest days up there than I’ve ever had as far as the scenery.

Water is clearing up in the Lake is at 85% capacity. Almost 1,.400,000 acres and it’s full at 1,600,000 acres."

Dave says Berryessa is his favorite bass fishing lake and only fly-fishes it.

I know he has fished it for over 10 years and knows it well.

He uses very small fly rods with the fastest sinking, full line he can find.

He uses small black crystal buggers.

Sounds like it should be very good in May this year........
