Default In March things are warming up here in Florida.

We are in peak large-mouth bass time with the famous Headwaters Lake about an hour west of us.

Watch some fantastic action on YouTube of the fishing in this new trophy bass lake.

March is a transitional month with the warming that brings in "tons" of mullet of all sizes and many other baitfish. Snook, Tarpon, Jacks, Redfish, etc. are all following the mullet into the mangrove-lined lagoons, creeks, small rivers, and our entire 156-mile-long shallow intercoastal waterway, the Indian River lagoon. Right now it is hard to not fish every day with so much water and free launch ramps everywhere.

Steve Potter and I go out during the weekdays in our skiffs when the wind is around 10 miles per hour.

Sebastian, Florida might be the best place to live to fish almost 365 days a year.

Anyone who likes to fish the Delta would love it here.........

I went to grad school in central Florida, the only way I would ever consider moving back is if it was within 3 miles of the beach. Too hot and humid any further inland.

But yes, the fishing is incredible almost every day of the year if you know where to look and how to "chase the bite".

When we were looking for a house here a real estate salesman told us to get as close to the ocean as we could because it was cooler in the summer and warmer during the cold fronts in the winter.

In July, August and September, it is a living Hell here, day and night.

Many from Florida head north to Virginia and Georgia in the mountains to get cool.
