I targeted shad this year almost strictly from a boat this run due to the higher flows. I did wade for them a few days but had my most success from a boat. It was not a lot of work once you figured out the kind of water they liked. Now I’m looking for Summer run steelhead and maybe a striper or two.

Saw some people kayaking on the upper south fork American above Kybers Lodge. I was heading up to Wrights lake, first time I’ve seen that on high flows or the S F American. Two of them were inflatable kayak/canoe looking things with square front and back. The other was a white water kayak and he looked like a guide. Getting thrashed too.

I have never seen a watercraft on the SFA above Folsom Lake ?

Kayaks and SUP are really popular, Worldwide.
