In 2016 I caught and released a 36”, 23 pound fish and my guess this fish is in the 28 pound range. The attached fish was 27 pounds and the one I posted looks bigger.

Headed down for 3 days fishing in Mid March. Stoked and can't wait. Love that place even if it is a weird place. Where else do you go fishing and hope for crappy weather? LOL

That picture looks like it was taken on a river (Truckee?), not a lake. But I've never been to Pyramid.

Many years ago Pyramid Lake and Lake Tahoe both had huge Cutthroat trout in them.

Back then the fish could swim from Pyramid Lake to Lake Tahoe and back.

Then Mackinaw/Lake Trout and Kokanee/Landlocked dwarfed Sockeye salmon got accidentally into Tahoe.

By then the fish could no longer get from lake to lake due to dams from ranches and farms on the Truckee river.
