    Default Winston Spey Rod

I am helping a friend with this. He needs to sell his Winston “Derek Brown Favorite” Spey rod, which he no longer uses and hasn’t used for quite some time. It is a 15’, 9/10 weight rod in five sections with a maple reel seat. This is a big stick for big fish. Overall, it is in good shape. There is, however, some peeling of the green finish where the butt section joins with the first section, and some minor wear in other areas, as well. All of it cosmetic.

The cork handle is in good shape, a bit soiled but it should clean up nicely. The maple reel seat and other appointments are, as you would expect from Winston, first-class.

He is asking $300.00 for this rod, plus $35.00 for shipping. I have posted a few pictures. I have more. Send me a PM if you are interested. Thanks.

Winston Fly Rod Company makes some of the finest Spey / Two-handed fly rods.

This long two-handed fly rod would be perfect for fishing Steelhead in the Fall on the Clearwater river.

It would also be good for any large, wide, shallow Atlantic Salmon river.

The guys I know who fish the Clearwater for a month every year use full length weight forward floating lines with ~70 heads.

Their leader is a long as the two-handed fly rod they are fishing.

Flies are size 6 and 8 winged Steelhead / Atlantic patterns.

You would need a large heavy fly reel to balance with that 15' long rod.

These are $1,000.00 plus rods so $300 is a steal.
